I was preparing to replace my garage door using a handy DIY friend. We went over the steps it would take to complete the job; shop for the new replacement door, dismantle the old door, buy and haul the new door to the site, install the new door, hang the new door opener, run the wires from the opener to the operational pads, haul away and find place to dispose of the old door. He also suggested I get a bid or two for the job, see how much it would cost. I asked around and was told to check out Ryan at American Ryno. Turns out Ryan has been installing garage doors his whole life. His bid was so attractive, I hired him immediately and a couple days latter the door was installed. What a great decision to forego all the running around and head scratching, Ryan, showed up, had the job done in 4 hours. I got a perfect job without any hassle at a very competitive price. Absolutely no regrets leaving the job to a professional with years of experience and tremendous skill. Thank you Ryan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge a service call fee?

Yes. We charge a $99 service call fee to come and diagnose your garage door issue. If you move forward with our transparent estimate, we wave the service call fee.

How long do garage door springs last?

Standard garage door torsion springs last roughly 10,000 cycles. One cycle is the garage door going up and down once. High cycle springs can be rated up to 50,000 cycles or more.

What causes a garage door to stop working?

Common causes include broken springs, malfunctioning openers, off-track doors, dead batteries in the remote, worn-out rollers, or safety sensors misaligned.

How much does garage door repair cost?

Repair costs vary depending on the issue, parts needed, and labor. Common repairs may cost between $100 to $500, while more complex issues could be higher.

Can I repair my garage door, or should I call a professional?

While minor issues like replacing a remote battery might be DIY, complex problems (like broken springs or cables) should be handled by professionals for safety reasons.

How long do garage doors last?

Garage doors can last 15 to 30 years, depending on the material, use, climate conditions, and most importantly, how well the garage door was maintained.

How long do garage door openers last?

With regular maintenance, a garage door opener should last 10-15 years before needing to be replaced. The lifespan also depends on how often the opener is used.

How often should I have my garage door serviced?

It’s recommended to have your garage door inspected and serviced at least once a year to ensure it operates safely, efficiently, and maintains the manufacturer’s warranty.

Why is my garage door making a loud or unusual noise?

Noises like grinding, squeaking, or banging can indicate issues with the rollers, springs, or tracks. Regular maintenance and lubrication can help reduce these noises.
